About Elkin Creek Vineyard

Mark Greene — Owner, Winemaker
A native of Elkin and graduate of both Wake Forest and the Oenological and Viticulture program at Surry Community College, Mark found success as a banker and small business owner before casting his lot as a restaurateur and winemaker. After purchasing the century old mill, he and
his wife planted the vineyard and built the winery/restaurant with help from a few friends and
his five children.


Benjamin Craig Vance — Executive Chef
Ben comes to The Kitchen after being trained by Chef Kimrey Jordan at Wilkes Community College. He is classically trained and his recent trip to Paris has molded his outlook on cuisine. Ben is a native to our area and is excited to be creating dishes for Elkin Creek. When not at the Vineyard, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kari, and his daughter, Abigail.

Hugh M. Hampton, III
Hugh comes to The Kitchen with fifteen years of restaurant experience. After having helmed a series of Zagat’s
survey-rated restaurants in Columbia, SC, Charleston, and Savannah, he relocated back to his birthplace of
Winston-Salem. He enjoys spending time with his cat,
Sophia, and playing his Xbox 360.
